My laptop keeps overheating very rapidly. If I use it continously for more than an hour it'll just shut down on me. What are some tricks or tips that I can do to help prevent this or keep my laptop cool? Any help is appreciated

make sure the laptops fans have enough room eg dont have the laptop on your legs or a cushion if the laptop always overheats you can buy extra fans that clip on the botton in a nifty case there only like $10-40

Laptops get hot, you can't expect it to stay cold. It's .5cm think with a 80mm heatsink. You can open it up and clean it out using a compressed air can. Also, make sure you're not using it on any heat conducting surfaces.

Damp cloth :S really not a good idea! Apart from the obvious water and electricity thing you will also greatly restrict the air flow around all the fans and actually end up making the thing get hotter quicker than without it.
