I want to unlock superstar cole, but I don'y know how. It says I need to get the MVP medal?

MVP is earned by having the highest score in an online ranked match. The medal of MVP is earned by having the highest score multiple times. We will find out the exact number for the MVP medal tomorrow night.

MVP Medal is earned by coming top in a game, you will need to get to the gold tier of this medal (100 MVP's) to unlock him. btw i already have the game so this is solid intel ;)

Do you have to be in a ranked game?
or can I be in a reg quick match?
