I think its because if the host drops out then you are the host...
Of its not that then I don't have a clue

Let's say you're the host but you have to go because your mom told you to take out the trash and go shop milk from the store, or your internet stops or your xbox freezes, your Co-host can host the lobby while you're gone
( just an example , don't get offended :d )
