What second language is taught in 99% of schools outside of theirs? English. Why is it taught? Because we're a world super power and sometimes in your life you will deal with ONLY english speakers because of your job or location.

We are taught all sorts of secondary languages that 2 years is required of in order to get into colleges or universities. It's not enough to learn the language, but it's enough when we don't need it. We do however need Spanish, cause look what's happening to our country? Parden me, but it's being over-ran by non-english speaking minorities.(That's not an offensive term.)
