Because we're not the ones who move to a different country because ours sucks...99% of Americans, STAY IN AMERICA. On the other hand, people who speak foreign language, do not. The way I see it, we shouldn't have to learn any other language because we stay in our country, and our country is supposed to speak English. However, I do speak a little Spanish as well.

Your generalization is completely wrong. Every school district in the US requires some sort of foreign language. Your stereotyping is not uncommon, there are several countries out there that believe that the US only teaches English. Most of the time its either Spanish, French or German that is taught. This stems from the availability of teachers that have the knowledge to teach a specific language. Most people from Europe are fluent in several different languages because there are so many different countries so close together. Most Americans will try to learn certain phrases when they do travel to get around and survive i.e. shopping, medical, eating etc.... The problem is that most people are shy whey trying out a new language, which I'm sure you dealt with when you tried to speak English for the first few times. The truth of the matter is that English is the language of the world, like it or not. I experience it on a daily basis. Where I live you will see Arabs, Filipinos, Pakis and Indians talking together and they all speak English because that is the one common language. Now I applaud you for having the confidence to post on a forum that is not in your native tongue, but please do not use such stereotyping. Where are you from, if you dont mind me asking?
