I get this message, but I am silver with a 48hr trial on. I dont think I'm banned. I think its just a error, because gears sees that your not a gold member. The fix is usually to sign out then back in or go to dashboard and back in.

If I were banned those two methods above wouldnt work and I still wouldnt be able to play right, but when I do the above I can play online fine.

and give Horizon some blame, seeing that the majority of the bans are most likely from horizon...

Horizon isn't to blame for the bans - it's the user. If you're going to mod your save, you do so at your own risk. Some get off with it, others aren't so fortunate.

For the record, these GoW3 bans ARE permanent.

Epic has done you the favor of dealing with you in-house, meaning they didn't slip your gamertags to Microsoft. By modding your profile you've violated the Xbox Live Terms of Service, and the punishment for this specific type of offence is a console ban.

Consider yourselves lucky that you haven't been bricked. Consider selling your game on Craigslist or eBay for $50, seeing as it's still 60 in stores you may be able to recover your loss.

Ive been clean ever since last year when my other account and console got perma banned at the same time.

Since then I havent did anything to give MS a reason to suspend or ban me.

Actually yeah the did slip our Gamer tags to Microsoft i got suspended for cheating yesterday and i was banned from gears 3.

I agree with everything except the 99% thing, its not that hard ....just dont get greedy and mod rank and stats simple
