Building is always better, people worry about 'warranty' but you get warranty with each part anyway. Plus you get the experience of building one, its cheaper and always better. And, you can change parts whenever you want, as with Manufactured PCs, you change a HDD, case, GFX card etc, warranty =gone.

Build your own and change the 6870 to a 6850 and OC it , or get a higher end card like a 6950

The PC you build yourself will always be better than 99.9% of pre-builts.

Here's a little comparison for you:

2500k vs i7-2600.

There is a very minimal difference. The only advantage the i7-2600 has over the 2500k is hyper-threading cores. You'd probably never notice the difference between them unless you're using apps / benchmarking that utilize that. But the 2500k is a fully unlocked CPU, meaning it can reach OC's of 4.0 - 4.5 GHZ fairly easily by just adjusting the vCORE and the multiplier and let Prime95 run overnight.

6870 vs 6850.

That extra 5 - 20 FPS in games is a boost.

P67-G43 vs some generic piece of crap.

You get absolutely NO upgrade / overclocking options with that generic HP board. It's literally a M-ATX board made to fit a PCIE 16x card and a CPU, that's it. It probably doesn't even have Sata 3 6gb per second ports. With the G43, you get a sweet looking color design, overclocking options ( EUFI Bios - 6. +1 phase power ), crossfire support, more USB's and SATA's.

A case that you like vs some generic HP case.

The generic HP case only holds 1 fan and has absolutely no key features. It'll be bad on airflow and screw you over when you want to upgrade a component. A so called gaming case will hold more fans, have a CPU cutout, hold longer video cards, tool-less installation, dust filters, and many more features.

A reliable PSU vs some generic made-in-China PSU that is prone to blow up.

The prone-to-fail PSU will give you absolutely no upgrade options and will barely hold a 6850. Pretty self explanatory. If it blows ( which is likely ), it could kill your entire system, literally.

I hope this cleared it up. Basically, if you go with the HP, you're getting screwed over now, and especially in the long run.
