There's two ways.
1) Modding it.
2) Night of release, sometimes regular matches counted as events, so it was glitched.

obviously, but uh, he didn't have anything else, he just had that, there's probably a separate way to get it than using something like horizon.

The first night the game came out every game counted as an event for some people cause if glitched

honestly. i have the golden cog gear too.. i did not mod it. i pleayed a couple games, and looked up how to get golden cog gear. saw that i had one/5 already. and from there on after every game i got another one. 4 games later i unlocked it. and 2 out of 3 of my friends i was playing with didn't get it either. no idea. must have been glitched 1st day or something. but don't worry, it doesn't look that cool anyway.
