Hey E71 is a dashboard error or something to do with the dashboard.

Try holding your Sync button and while holding it turn on your console. This should remove any failed updates.

I heard alot of these are caused by the hard drive. Try taking it out and booting it up like that, if that dosnt, leave it and the power brick out in the garage or a well ventilated area for a day.

not true the E-71 error is mostly from updates i had this same problem last year with my white xbox easy fix (if you have an external HDD) just remove it then turn it on

you should try to format your hdd either on your comp or xbox
