Ok....wouldnt it be better 2 just get a different 1 though

if its under warranty and has rrod xbox will fix/give you a new replacement console.if its not and you want it too work and its just a dirty laser it would be worth cleaning with a qtip and some rubbing alcohol if there is more wrong with it trade it sell it and get a new one.i have had issuses with drives and either had too just check ribbons or clean the laser a few times i just got a new drive of the same model and just swapped the chips out and got rid of the problems.
