some jobs have necessary skills that you learn in school, so thats why some things you learn in school maybe are not needed for you but are needed for other people, i live in the best school district in the us and i feel that we do so much and it takes so much out of our lives when we could learn it in half the time, life is just too short. .

I can agree on someterms with this, but the reason we have to learn all the different subjects is to teach you to multi-task. College is for people looking into learning more about 1 thing.

By the time you get to college and your 18, you have to pay bills, Student loans, Work a full time job, Pay rent or a mortgage... When your older you have less time to dedicate to learning, so perhaps the learning of one thing should start a little earlier.

Shortly after the Russians launched Sputnik in 1957, Hannah Arendt
quipped that only in America could a crisis in education actually become a
factor in politics. The Cold War battle for the American school
dramatized but not initiated by Sputnik proved Arendt correct. The
schools served as a battleground in the ideological conflicts of the 1950s.
Beginning with the genealogy of progressive education, and ending with the
formation of New Left and New Right thought, Education and the Cold War
offers a fresh perspective on the postwar transformation in U.S. political
culture by way of an examination of the educational history of that era.

Before the cold war we were learning things you call practical, after the Russians launched their satalite America was afraid that they would fall behind in technology and power so they changed the entire education system from learning how to fix a broken carborater to becoming rocket scientist.

On that note, if you have a problem with what you're taught, drop out, teach yourself whatever you think you need.

Well Really, Here in America if you want to be something and you try to Achieve that Goal, you eventually will get that Goal you want to have.
You probably won't get it if your just shooting for the moon and say : "I want to become the President of the United States" or "I want to become the CEO of Microsoft" but if it's something not really that high in standards you will get what you desire.
Currently, I believe we should have more School Days even though School gets annoying, At Least 200 Days instead of 180 would be nice to ensure that the people that actaully "Need" their Education, Actually get it.
Plus, more school days would also be better for Society. <-- I was completely going off topic there but that's pretty much it.

More school days?

Thats just nonsense... I mean school already invades enough into personal life. There is more to living then following the rules and having government tell you how to learn. There are things more important to learn other then Math, Science, History. School designs you to be an Obedient worker who plays by the rules and who listens to what they are told.... Your pretty much a robot that echos things pushed in your head everyday,
