StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty Thread
Story (Wikipedia)
Set in the 26th century in a distant part of the Milky Way galaxy, the game revolves around three species: the Terrans, human exiles from Earth; the Zerg, a super-species of assimilated life forms;[11] and the Protoss, a technologically advanced species with vast mental powers. Wings of Liberty focuses on the Terrans, while the expansions Heart of the Swarm and Legacy of the Void will focus on the Zerg and Protoss, respectively. The game is set four years after the events of 1998's StarCraft: Brood War, and follows the exploits of Jim Raynor as he leads an insurgent group against the autocratic Terran Dominion. The game includes both new and returning characters and locations from the original game.
Overall Gameplay
StarCraft II has plenty to offer to any fan of RTS (Real Time Strategy) games. This game is so smooth and fun to play compared to the choppy gameplay found in many RTS games. It is an overhead RTS, in which you control your troops, build up your army, go to war, and tons more! Without going in Depth, I can say that the feel of the game is exceptional. Whether you are playing campagn, multiplayer, or vs AI, this game has a lot of replay value and customization.
Graphics
All I can say is; Wow! This is the only RTS game that I think has "Incredibly Impressive Graphics". You can tell how much effort went into detail in the game's cinematic's, gameplay, and cut-scenes. Explosions look especially amazing. Blizzard went all out on the graphical detail they put into this game. There is also an options menu, which features graphics options that allow you to change the graphic settings, to work with your computer. This allows StarCraft II to be played on almost any computer! You will not be dissapointed with the graphics in this game.
Controls
As with most RTS games, the controls are mostly mouse based. You use the mouse to select units and decide what you want to do with them. Although this seems simple, it can get very complicated when you introduce hotkeys. Hotkeys are extreamly valuable, as they reduce the amount of time you take to perform an action. There is not much more to be said about the controls. They take a little while to get used to but, once you've got it, you will be leading your troops into glorious battle.
Multiplayer
Alright. This is one of the main features of StarCraft II. It is hands down, the best online play in any RTS game. This is not for the weak of heart though. Prepare to play for at least a couple of hours when you start an online match. Believe me when I say "It is extreamly difficult". There are many skilled players online. Practice before enduring an online match with any skilled players.
Well there it is. StarCraft II. One of the best PC games out there, and probably the best RTS so far. Complicated. In Depth. Absolute Fun!
