Derp wrote Steven hawking already proved this wrong. He said that once you're at the speed of light, time goes by slower or some **** and it won't let you break the light barrier.
It wasn't Steven hawking it was Einstein, If confirmed, the discovery would undermine Albert Einstein's 1905 theory of special relativity, which says that the speed of light is a "cosmic constant" and that nothing in the universe can travel faster.

There already is something faster then the speed of light, they found it a few weeks ago but it is only just faster and it might be a mis calculation. also -cow- what you said that it was time travel is wrong, if you travel faster then the speed of light you wouldnt be able to see anything because the light wouldnt be able to travel to your eyes quick enough so we would still be in the same time just not be able to see anything. And You wouldnt be able to walk in a space ship traveling at the speed of light the G-Force would push you down so much it would crush you.

-Cow- wrotefood wrote if something goes the speed of light it theoretically becomes infinitely larger than the universe, making it impossible
It cant become larger than the universe because the universe has no "end" if you mean bigger than our Solar system then still no beacuse things dont expand in space beacuse that would require matter which there is none of in space and if there was we could make new planets and everything would be inifinite
What?! Of Course There's Matter In Space You Dumba**! Go To School!

So if time goes slower we could make it so slow we could live forever?
@ The person under me, i was joking. Also the time delay would be smaller not bigger, The slower we are the greater the difference.

no time doesnt go slower he is wrong we will just see things in the past slightly. everything we see now is in the past because it takes time for light to reach our eyes if we went near light speed the time delay would be bigger.

CameronUK wrote If the space ship is travelling at 299,792,458 ms-1 (the speed of light), and you walk through it at 1 ms-1, then 299,792,458+1=299,792,459, which is faster than the speed of light.
Haha. Technically speaking, if that was true, yes, you would be going faster than the speed of light.

Right, to clarify.
The only things that are known to travel /< Speed of light are:
- Light
- A neutrino
Steven Hawking's has discussed your theory before, and gave a reason why it is wrong. If you were to travel 1 mp/h less than the speed of light, on a "train" and you were to get up from your seat, time it's self would slow down.
Even though scientists at the LHC thought that something traveled faster than the speed of light (the neutrino previously mentioned) they think they did something wrong with there results. It was an anomaly.
So, to conclude, you cannot travel faster than the speed of light, only extremely closed to it. 8)
Time would slow down for you, making you age less than everybody else. So yes, time would slow down.

no time has nothing to do with light, time isnt an object you can slow down or speed up you wouldnt age slower you would age at the same speed it would just seem that you would age slower because you are going so fast.

Lol @ Cameron that what you said about if you just walk through the ship, that's smart and it makes you think.
