well thats the effect i went for, its got brushstroke effect on it, hence whys you think its bad quality, its the whole idea, why would i want HD sonic? thats not the classic retro look

umm you didnt do much except text edit and the picture is very bad quality i see the pixels

It would be a good idea to think about it.
HD = High Definition.
High Definition is a resolution. either 720p or 1080p. Seeing as desktops are normally larger than 720p it's a good idea to consider getting some better source material. I know what you mean about the effect your going for but your not understanding me. You think I'm talking about high end Crysis style graphics when I'm not. You've resized a bitmap and bitmaps lose quality when rescaled which is bad. So instead of clean crisp edges you've got blurs everywhere which makes everything look like an eye sore. So when I say you need better images I mean you need ones that are the size of the screen at least so you don't lose quality. If you don't understand, go read a graphics manual.
