For instance the Music Industry actually like piracy of their music because the people who listen to it often feel inclined to buy it later on. A lot of people do.

I already watched a brief documentary on this (caught the last few minutes, might go search for it again) and the bill is facing too much opposition to get passed. Besides it's cyber space, that's like controlling space itself you can't just put laws in if you don't own it.
Although this is true, it took hundreds of thousands of those against Bill S.978 (a bill with a similar purpose) to stop it in its tracks. The government simply chooses to do what they feel.

It can't be passed, even if it did all major companies would just move out of America and get their stuff set up elsewhere where they can't be bothered and still have internet privileges. I live in UK and I'm not going to be affected apparently besides some US sites being taken down. However, the companies wont just sit back and accept it they'll move over here or something and run it from here.

All it all if the bill did get passed it's only the American Government itself suffering.

If the US companies move to the UK, it won't stop the US from blocking them from reaching US visitors, the same way as the great firewall of China, or they could even [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

i just watched the whole video, and i think that these new laws are going to f*ck over the internet. Like if you post 1 gaming video or 1 thing with copyright you could get a fellony for it? If this bill goes through, i am definatly not voting my leader in next term thats for sure.

yeah it possibly could effect TTG, because the tech game has tons of news articles and also could have copy right on it, which means it could get shut down if it gets passed. im not saying its for sure going to get shut down, but its deffinatly possible
