im trying to edit my montage and i wanted to know would the quality still be good if i edit it then render it first in after effects cs4 and then finish editing it in sony vegas because i want to sync it to the song and i dont know how to do that on cs4

it depends really with the qaulity your rendering in

i would stick to:
1280 x 720
25.000 FPS
in sony vegas render so its a MP4
then the quality will be just as good as your recorded
