Hey I have a quick question about viruses...

Can you get a virus from downloading an infected file (like an exe or any others that you know of) or do you have to actually execute/run the file?

Not 100 percent on this but its normally when you run it as it distributes the virus when you execute the virus , so its sounds like you have to run it to get the virus

u have to of opened the file, some files can just mess ur computer up by saving them so always virus scan

You can get it both ways, but most now a days when you download the file it execute on it's own then delete the .exe

you should also trust the downloading source (a site rating website would be best)

you need to execute said .exe if u just download it i dun think u get infected

Now with the progression of smarter people they can make it so that you only have to download it without executing it.
