Looks like about 4 layers, but i guess you're on the right track. Keep experimenting with different things.

Pretty decent for a first try. Here's some tips. ;)
  • Download a couple GFX packs! Go on Youtube and search "Huge GFX Packs" and there you go.
  • If you'd like 3d text and stuff like that, download Cinema 4D.
  • Remember color schemes! If you'd like to make it dark colors, make the gradient a grey-ish color to a darker grey.
  • If you're going to use gradient, make sure to make the line for it throughout the whole picture, it'll look smoother.
  • Test out the blending options! That is, if you're using Photoshop.
