there points you can use in the prestige shop in mw3. if you prestiged in a prior cod game you get one per cod game. so if you prestiged in all 4, you get 4 points for the prestige shop

I think you are thinking of Prestige Tokens.
What they are is: for every COD that you prestiged, beginning with COD4, you will get a prestige token. So you will get 4 tokens if you prestiged in CoD4,W@W,MW2, and BO.
And for every time you prestige in MW3, you will get a token

Every time you prestige in any of the Call of Duty games
you are allowed to use a Prestige Token to buy a reward in the
game.
