The reason we have street cleaners, janitors, etc. is because those people were BORN with less intelligence than say, Steve Jobs. Also, we need positions like that. If you've played Bioshock and aren't too stupid to understand the story then you would know why you need janitorial staffs and stuff of that nature.

Ambition is not all it takes, it also takes a vast knowledge of coding and almost endless time that you can devote to this project that will most likely never be.

I'm sorry, but what you just said is downright bullshit. There are kids in my school who work their asses off and get straight C's. This doesn't mean their unambitious or aren't dedicated, in fact the opposite. I think it's offensive that you would consider peoples intelligence entirely based upon work ethic. What about special education students?
