Ok, so I really need to get this off my chest. It's like all I've been thinking about lately I don't know why. Please don't hate on this.
Ok so I've been playing Xbox for quite a long time I guess. Back in the day playing Halo 2, in like 6th grade at friends houses haha. I can't remember the exact date when I first got an Xbox 360, but I first got xbox live on Sept. 11, 2007 when I was in 8th grade. Shortly after that Halo 3 came out, and I definitely hopped on that. I pretty much played that game religiously for about 2 1/2 years, along with Guitar Hero III. I thought Halo 3 was the best game ever (and I think I may still). But eventually I got console banned from Halo 3 around Christmas time 2009 I think (long story) lol. For some reason my Mom decided to get me Modern Warfare 2 for Christmas that year. I was like the biggest CoD hater back in my prime Halo days by the way. But since I was banned until I could cough up enough money to buy a new xbox (thanks Bungie) I decided to go ahead and play MW2. I played it for a week or so, I thought it was alright but I was pretty bad at it. All my friends at school played it though and always tried to convince me to play it, but I had Halo on my mind and my mind on Halo. SO i got a new xbox, played halo for awhile, then Halo reach came out. Of course I preordered it thinking, oh yeah a new halo game, even better than Halo 3! Could I have been more wrong? Probably not. In my opinion, they completely ruined the Halo multiplayer experience for me. ALl the powerups like jet pack and shield block and sprinting or whatever that stuffs called, I wouldn't know its been a long while since that games been in my tray. Probably the biggest reason why I don't play that game is because they "replaced" the beloved Battle Rifle with the DMR, and not to mention they changed the ranking system to the one that pretty much just shows how long you can play the game to get to a high rank from the one of the only LEGIT ranking systems you see anymore. One that you actually had to be good to legitimately be a high rank. MY POINT on this is they ruined the Halo franchise for me with this game, but I still love Halo 3. But of course wayyyyy more people play Halo Reach, leaving Halo 3 with hardly any players making it hardly worth searching for games in some playlists anymore . This saddens me greatly, remembering all the good times and memories my friends and I had playing that game, and knowing that its over and never coming back. Thanks to halo reach. Next, we have guitar hero III. In my opinion, the best guitar hero game. It has the best songs and the best gameplay out of all of them. When I got the newer Guitar hero game after that, Guitar Hero World Tour, I played the first song and I was like WTF. It was nothing like GH3 and yet they still continue to make all the GH games they same way as this game. I dont even bother playing them and I still play GH3. MY POINT IS, the old game is better than all the new games. See what I'm getting at here? New games are generally worse than their sequals. But wait, theres more. I also enjoyed playing gears of war 1 way more than gears of war 3. But I won't say much about those games, since I suck something awful at those games. SO this brings me to Call of Duty. As the times changed back in the day (a couple years or so ago) I found myself playing MW2 more and more since Halo Reach sucks. So the game was now MW2 and I found it extremely fun and addicting. In my opinion Halo 3 and MW2 are the best FPS ever. I always thought MW2 was so good, even with all the modding and stuff but I mean come on. Its a great game even though most people on here don't think so. So I thought how could it get any better than this? I preordered black ops thinking the same thing I thought with Halo Reach. I played the first game and I was WTF is this? Some CoD cartoon game? Long story short, the game is terrible. MW2 > Black ops. Nuff said. Am I right? Haha. SO its been nothing but MW2 until about TODAY. And I played the S*** outta that game and I love it to death. So here comes MW3, i preordered it awhile back, but I had a little different mind set going into this one. You know, don't wanna get my hopes up too high and I was thinking: I dont think it can really get any better than MW2. Could I have been more right? Probably not. Honestly I played my first game of MW3 today and it brought me STRAIGHT back to the same exact feeling I got when I played Black ops. It really reminded me of black ops. The graphics and the way the guns looked and everything. And what do you know, the gameplay is the same too. And another thing, they sure dont make maps like they used to. In Halo 3, the maps were absolutely great. In Halo Reach, they were crap. In MW2, the maps, in my opinion, were amazing. In MW3, the maps are like really crappy and just make me want to not play the game. Everything in MW2 is better than MW3 in my opinion. But of course, everyone and their dog is going to be playing MW3 instead of MW2 so I dont know if it will even be worth playing it anymore. Oh well, there go those memories I guess.
So my point in all this is, they really just dont make games like they used to. It seems to me that all the old games are better than the new ones they try to make in the series. Maybe its just me but thats what I think and I'll still probably be trying to play the old games. The fun games. The disappointment that I feel because of MW3 is crazy huge, so I don't know what I'll do about that.
I guess I'm really pulling for Halo 4 next year! ;)
