Tutorial on how to make a better review

First off, make sure you read on the regulations on making your review official Here

How to make a review

The very first thing I do when im doing my review is, I research the game. Yes, you have to have played the game before doing a review, but its always good to know a little backround info on the game, and hey you might even find something out that you did not know in the past.

Keeping a organized post is a VERY important thing about posting reviews, because more times than not, the person reading has not played the game yet. So make it detailed and always write as if you were writing to a person that has not played the game (how to here), if you do not do this the reader will most likely be confused.

Choosing a Game to Review

Honestly to me this is the most hard part of a review. Choosing a game no one has done yet gets kind of hard, it can not have been reviewed already, but at the same time it can be easy. Remember the game does not have to be "Popular" or "New" it can be the worst game or the oldest out, if no one has done a review on it, go right ahead and do it. (If you still need help picking PM me and I will do my best to help).

Dont steal others work

We want to keep these reviews a TTG only review, and we want to have our own unique reviews not, others from different sites. The only thing your allowed the copy and paste is the "Synopsis" (The Devs description of the game). "We want to hear your voice, because your voice is different from the voice of others."

Take Your Time

Relax, take your time. It usually takes me 10-20 mins to write a good review, but Ive been taking writing classes for years and things just come to me. This maybe wayyy different from you so if you need to take a little break, listen to music, watch TV when your writing. Whatever helps you write do it, the chances of someone writing the same exact review at the same moment you are, is slim to nothing.

Finishing Touches

When you finish, make sure you do spell check and proof read everything and make sure you have everything you wanted to say in the review there. (This is something I have to work on also, so dont worry if you forget to do this sometimes, this is why there is the "Edit" button)

Your Layout

This is the most important part of your review, you can do whatever layout you want, but make it "eye friendly" and professional. When your review is looked over by staff the first thing they look at is the layout and how easy it is to read, this is why I say its the most important step to making a review.

Here is my layout that you can use:

Release Date:
Developers:
Publishers:
Platforms:
Genre:
Players:
Rating:

Make sure you seperate your sections up, I use the "Insert Line Break"

Synopsis (this is allowed to be copy and pasted)

Story

Gameplay [Single & Multiplayer]

Graphics

Controls [a review of them - not a list]

And a little info on the game such as interesting facts if possible.

Rating: [out of 10]

F.A.Q

1. "Ive waited forever why hasnt my review been published"

Answer: There are not many staff in this section so sometimes it can take a little while before they can review it. Another thing is that they couldve found something wrong with your review and may think it should not be a published review.

2. "Ive played the game, but I dont know what to say on it."

Answer: Game Reviewing is not for everyone, to some people it comes easily others it does not, my best thing to say to you is not to do a review. I say this because sometimes you might want to do it so badly you might resort to stealing others work, and we want to hear your voice not the voice of others.

3. "I was about to post a review but someone did the same game and posted it when I was still writing it"

Answer: You can PM me and im sure we can work on resolving the issue.

4. Where do I post my review, it says "Mods only"

Answer: Post your review under Dimebag's Sticky Here and it will be reviewed by staff.

5. What do I get out of it.

Answer: Post a good review and see what happens ;)

More to come soon

Have FUN!!

If" you dont have fun and rush your review it wont be up to full potenital, it will lack what it needs to be a published review. I love writing reviews, I let it show in my work so if you dont love doing this it will get in the way of your work and once again not letting your true potenital shine. This is supposed to be fun guys so if you dont enjoy it dont do it

If anyone ever needs help PM me and I will be sure to reply
