Hello, I've been saving up awhile for a desktop I have after effects cs4 for my laptop but It's just too slow.
And I wanna get cs5
So I have a few questions...
1. How much ram is recomened for smooth use?
2. Should I build or buy a Desktop?
3.How much would the total cost would be to build this or buy this Desktop?
4. What should the Desktop have, to Run After Effects smoothly ?
5. idk what else.
Please Respond,
Thank you.

1. It depends on what you do. In this moment in time, a dual channel 4gb kit is considered average and should be fine for the home user. If you're into 3D modeling / rendering / graphics work, more ( faster ) RAM will benefit you more.
2. Building it yourself is without a doubt the better option. Cheaper, faster, more reliable components for less. Plus, you get to brag about it and get work experience to fall back on.
3. I'd recommend at least a $550(+) budget if your main use is gaming / heavy multimedia.
4. High clocked RAM, a nice CPU ( preferably a 2600k ), and a generous SSD such as the Crucial M4 series.
