I've seen SO MANY threads on this, i just wanted to clear things up. COULD YOU GUYS KEEP THIS TOPIC ALIVE? I DONT WANT A WARNING FOR BUMPING, BUT AS SOON AS IT GOES DOWN THERES A NEW THREAD...

Xbox 360 "Upgrades"
Microsoft has recently announced that some older console models were not compatible with the new dashboard Beta. The older consoles may get an error message or may not read retail Xbox 360 game discs. There are also some rare instances where you are unable to connect to Xbox Live. Microsoft is "upgrading" your older system to a New Xbox 360 S 250 Gig. The reason I say "upgrading" is because after I saw the article on this at joystiq.com/2011/05/18/new-xbox-...ffering-r/ I called Microsoft to discuss the article. The Customer Support Agent I spoke with stated that he had not heard of Microsoft ever doing this. The farthest he thought Microsoft would go as far as Upgrading your console is giving you a New Xbox but the same model as the one you send into them. I sent him the Link I saw the article on and he still did not agree that Microsoft would do this. If you are having these problems I highly suggest calling Microsoft first and asking about it.
HOT SWAPPERS AND FLASHED XBOX'S
Ive noticed a whole lot of hot swappers and people with flashed Xbox's think they will be banned because the Beta is mainly to look for tampered drives. This is nt true as of what i have researched. It is just to fix the flashed Xbox Drives back to zero. So this means you will no be able to play ISO disks. You can only play ISO's that are already installed to your HDD previous to the update! It is possible though that there could be a ban wave after the update. I doubt it though. Also for hot swappers! Your installed modded game will still work if you have the original disk! so if it is not installed then you will not be able to play your ISO.
Party and In-Game chat problems
There are some problems with the In-Game chat system. You may not be able to hear the voices of players without the update. This is also true for voice messages and party chatting.
11th Prestiges!
For everyone worried about being banned for having an 11th prestige account that is not true! On WaW you can join a random zombie game and become 11th prestige on accident! Xbox knows this so they would not ban you. It is possible on other games but I doubt it. the Beta is mainly to fix flashed Xbox's. I have seen no reports of people being banned for being 11th! If you have been banned or know someone who has please tell me so i can inform you on this topic so more people are not banned. Also! if you think you can get console banned from this it is impossible. Console bans are givin out for system tampering. not account tampering! There are some rare cases when people receive the 9999 ban on there account. you will not be console banned though. it is unlikely but possible!
Modified Profiles!
If you are using a modified profile(for example blackops taco) to receive free marketplace content the profile will become corrupted. if you continue to try to use the modded account you may receive a suspension or a ban.They have also stopped modded gamertags.
THESE PROBLEMS ARE NOT ASSOCIATED WITH EVERY XBOX! If you receive no problems then thats good. I just stating some problems with the update
Youtube, Bing, And Cloud Storage
The dashboard will sport Bing voice searches, too, which works like the iPhone's spotlight search to browse through all the content on your hard drive and across the Xbox 360's handful of services, such as Zune music, movies and Xbox Live Marketplace.
Cloud storage lets you sync personal media -- your gamercard, full profile and save games -- into the cloud for easy access on any machine. Sony recently introduced cloud save storage to its premium PlayStation Plus subscription, as did Valve with its Steam Cloud service.
Xbox Live TV lets you watch video content from a variety of services, including YouTube, sweaty man-fighting (UFC) and, in the UK, Sky. It's all done through voice commands if you've got a Kinect so just shout out a channel or content type to jump to a new programme.

Man you forgot the beta is to test kinect working on it I have the beta and kinect and there are still some problems but hopefully will be fixed when the full dash is released
