nice explanation, i would prefer a rgh over a jtag simply becuase ( as explained my imoses) it doesnt need any older dashboard to be hacked = not only older consoles but new updated 2010 consoles will be exploit'd by rgh aswell and probably any new console that they make.

Michael-Teh-Hax wrote This was definitely needed, although most people on here wont be able to understand either of the hacks.

And what brings a 7s moderator like yourself here? oh and congrats on global btw.

I sell in the marketplace, and sometimes lurk for topics about Xboxs where a lack of facts are present.

Great post Moses, glad to see someone clear this up with the amount of people asking about it lately.

I'd agree on the RGH > JTAG, I'd love to get my hands on a Slim RGH, but sadly my money tree fell down. Looks like my Jasper is still going to be getting abused

Despite my statements, it does appear that people like JTAGs more because that is what they know, and refuse to look into the RGH as a superior hack.

Very true, JTAG is the more "mainstream" method, and a lot of people don't know what exactly the RGH is, and people fear the unknown. In time the RGH will definitely become the up to date method with the JTAG Hack becoming depreciated.

You're right, I was one at first. But also, when I was looking at a JTAG or RGH the RGH was so new that no one had successfully added programs such as Xexmenu (and subsequently FSD).

I definitely appreciate your post, great for the "mature" noobs like me who know to search before posting. Great explanation of what they are.

I know have an RGH on the way.

That will take place once JTAGs become "extinct" and you won't be able to find JTAGables. Hopefully people will stop the whole mass price drop, so a stable selling environment can exist.
