FPS Drop in games need help

So when i play games like L4D i get around 60 FPS but every couple seconds it drops super low then goes back and it keeps doing that. So if anyone has any suggestion please post it

It's hard to trouble shoot something like that without any sort of information about your computer. Most likely you cpu is over heating and causing the fps drops but without knowing your specs I can only speculate.

Sure it could be the GPU but that's not what I said I said the CPU read the post you need to list your specs if you want any real help.

There really is no point in overclocking a gpu because you will gain little or no fps from it.

There really is no point in overclocking a gpu because you will gain little or no fps from it.
That's not always true it depends on the GPU and how much you can overclock with it maintaining stability.
