Overall it's a pretty nice picture. Line, which is an element of design, is easily distinguishable in this photograph and has variety of lines (horizontal, diagonal, etc.) throughout it. Another, thing is the unusual viewpoint while taking the photograph helps show the infinite depth of field being created by the railroad moving from the foreground to the background. One problem is the photo is over-exposed. The upper right corner is pure white which means the pixels are not there. I would say edit the exposure with levels in photoshop and get a nice range of whites, darks, and grey mid-tones. Tell your girlfriend nice job.

Photography is a very hard art to teach yourself and learn, I've come to the realization that people are just born with an eye for beauty. As a result only a select few out of the crowd can become great photographers.

This isn't bad, it has nice use of light transitions (natural light), the focal point is defined nicely, and it isn't a dull picture (as in color, environment, atmosphere, etc).

Not too bad, she has potential 8)

i know nothing about photography but in my opinion it looks natural and realistic
