Sheesh guys, chill out. You're all right on this factor: Call of Duty is a game, it isn't real life. Though there are similar units to Task Force 141, similar people to Captain John Price (Example, the man he was based off of, the S.A.S. operative John "Mac" McAleese), and similar events to the U.S. forces entering small nations to help take out leaders (Example, we almost went to Lybia, thinking about going to Iran and Syria), it is still imaginary. There is no way plausible that Russia could attack America within a few hours after an "American" organized terrorist attack, and there's no way Sergeant Foley, Corporal Dunn, and Private Ramirez could have gone from Afghanistan to stateside within a few hours to defend America. BUT that does not mean we, the gamers of this genius franchise, are not emotionally connected to Captain John "Soap" MacTavish.
Its no different than a movie. Who wasn't sad when Anakin Skywalker assisted in the death of Mace Windu? Who wasn't sad when Anakin burned to a crisp on Mustafar? Who wasn't sad when Qui-Gon Jinn died in young Kenobi's arms? This is no different than Harry Potter. Almost all of the readers are attached to the characters, and they don't want anything to happen to them. If you are truly a Call of Duty fan, you are attached to Price, MacTavish, Griggs, Vasquez, Gaz, Ghost, Roach, and Yuri. Their deaths (with the exception of Price who is still alive) upset us because we, believe it or not, look up to them in admiration.

So, I hope you take this in to consideration next time you bash SnakesOnAPavelow for making it seem like Call of Duty isn't just a game.
