How to Increase your Java Memory [Windows]Posted:

This tutorial will basically teach you how to solve this error:
Step 1. Open your control panel
Note: Yours may not look the same as this.
Step 2. Type 'Java' inside the search box in the top right corner.
Step 3. Click the Java icon.
It should then show you this:
Step 4. Click the tab titled 'Java'
Step 5. Click 'View...'
You should now see something like this:
Step 6. Change the 'Runtime Parameters', and make sure 'Enabled' is checked.
I have mine set to -Xmx1024M (the -Xmx is necessary, and it needs to be in Megabytes). It should be changed depending on how much RAM you have. For 32-bit Operating Systems I recommend -Xmx768M. If you have a 64-bit or that does not work continue to increase the amount.
-Xmx1024M
-Xmx1536M
-Xmx2048M
etc...
Once you have done that it should look something like this:
Step 7. Click 'OK'
Then 'Apply'
Then 'OK' again.
Step 8. Start and enjoy Minecraft! :biggrin:
