Have you tried Ubuntu? Linux Mint is actually based off Ubuntu/Debian. You might not like it though because they switched their GUI to Unity as of 11.04 and it's similar to Mac. Depending on how old this computer is you could try Xubuntu, it runs better on older computers.

I have tried Ubuntu and Mint seems simpler and easier to use. I may be selling this computer soon to people who arent very computer literate so I want it to be simple for them.

I would go with either Xubuntu or Trisquel (or Trisquel Mini for older hardware). Both are lightweight and are very easy to use. The reason I would avoid Ubuntu is because the new Unity DE isn't easy on hardware, and you probably won't be able to run it. Trisquel has a nice, usable interface that will probably appeal nicely to anyone that isn't so computer savvy. Trisquel also encourages the use of free and open-source software, if you are into the whole open-source movement. You can probably look on Youtube and find countless videos of these distros, but if not, PM me and I can probably help you with whatever it is you need.

I will try Trisquel out! I do appreciate open source and want the easiest, and non-hardware intensive OS for these computers. Thanks!
