Okay can anyone help me solve my problem of my open tray error on the new kinect xbox i have had it for a couple of years but this is my first problem with it can anyone help.?

Clear cache twice, delete gamertag profile only, download profile from LIVE, delete and redownload the latest update. If that does not resolve, call or chat support. More troubleshooting available.

This error been happening to every one no one knows why. I think you should call MS and see if you have warranty

This error is caused because the laser in your XBOX has been pushed back-
If you dont want to send it into microsoft, and are fine with voiding your
warranty or if you have no warranty at all you can open it up and move the laser back into position (Closer to the hole in the disk tray) it has a spot it fits into the you will need to apply Super glue or solder it to the Tray bearings-

open it up and unplug the sata cord and plug it into your pc do a clear drive replacement which will get it fixed

go on youtube and find a tutorial on how to open your xbox if you dont already know and open it up until you disk tray and clean your laser
