I used gimp its free but not as good a cs5 which I can't afford but anyway I made this with gimp so it can't be too bad [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Gimp for beginners. Learn from there.

When become more advanced, use photoshop.

Right now, I currently use Gimp.

I'd prefer to just use Photoshop right away, yeah it may be confusing to begin with but I'd rather get familiar with the interface of Photoshop than the interface of an easier piece of software rather than learning both.
