Alright, so how would i go about fixing my dvd drive..? It's not reading any disc or anything.
Is there a way i can buy a new dvd drive and use it on my console w/ no problems.
I know somewhat a lil' bout the dvd drive flashing process, however i'm unable to get my dvd key to spoof a different drive. So mainly my question where or how would i go about getting a dvd drive to replace this one?
Anyone can please help me it'd be much appreciated.
Kind Regards,
Sam

you can buy new ones of Ixtreme but you need the dvd key so you could reflash it to get your motherboard to recognise it

You have to buy the same exact drive as the broken one you have, and take the motherboard from the old one and put it on the new drive and make sure you solder all the wires right.

I did that with my broken liteon 7**** and it solved my "open tray" error
only tools you need is a screwdriver and a solderin iron

Just get it replaced by M$ to be safe. You run the risk of being banned if you try to swap drives by yourself

I'm sorry but this jsut sounds pretty stupid as my main problem is just replacing the drive it's self. I honestly don't think that would work to be honest with you.. lol, thanks for the help anyways.

As long as the sticker is in place I think you can get it fixed but it costs money to get it fixed. I think

It does work as long as its not the board thats the problem. if the drives are a 100% match just put the old board into the new drive then it will work without the need to extract your dvd key and reflash it.
and the chance of a ban is 0
