So i was trying to update my jtag jasper to the newest dashboard, being the hopeless noob that i am i messed around and gave my xbox RROD. What should i do next? Should i try to get it fixed or should i just start saving for a new xbox?

Do you have your old nand? The working one?
If you do just put it on a USB and boot Xell with it in and it will reflash the nand.
If you can't boot Xell you can fix it manually via SPI flasher.

You will need to put your latest non corrupt Freeboot image on a flashdrive and rename it to UPDFLASH.bin.
Then you will need to boot into xell with the usb plugged into any usb port on your xbox.
It should reflash the nand image.
If you can not access xell you will have to manually reflash the nand.
*note* Do NOT use your original nand.
