Today I plugged my jtag in and it overheated with in 10min, it has been sitting for about 2 weeks and worked perfect the last times I used it. I usaly get temps about 50c but they were all at 70. What would be the problem? I thouched the heatsincks and they were hot as hell, could it be the thermal past is dry or the xclamps aren't tight?

Well if its xclampped then it could rrod anytime. it doesnt fix it forever. Its more of a temporary fix. check thermal paste to see if its dried up, apply new/better paste if needed. and if that doesnt work to a reflow on it.

Last night i had taken one of my mates consoles apart so i could fix his over heating problem an noticed that the the fan wasnt plugged in correctly. Plugged it in correctly and they were all at 40-43 sides the Edram which is usually at 5o. Idk just check the fan if it was out of the blue and or add a fan to the top of the heatsinks.

It's not the fan I checked that, it heats up like crazy in 10min it's at 70c it has the original xclamps but why is it getting so hot? Could it be the thermal paste?

It doesn't need a reflow it's not Rrod'ing it just overheats and 2 lights flash. After 10min the heasinks are hot what would cause that? Could it be they aren't lined up properly?

Hold sync and press eject 4 times. 4 red lights means 0.

I have a jtagged xenon that i reflowed and had xclamp fix on. The GPU heatsink was getting very hot, and the console would freeze. I put some foil over the GPU and stuck the ends under the fan tunnel. Hasnt froze on me since, did the same with my rgh falcon and the temp is much cooler than before.
Still id say check the thermal paste and a fresh new coat on it as well.

What motherboard is it anyway?
