Many of you will recognize the Alan "Demize99" Kerts, the lead weapon designer at DICE working on BF3. Through twitter he announced that he will no longer be apart of the BF3 team, but moving onward to future projects at DICE. Could this be to work on one of the speculated Mirrors Edge 2, Battlefield 2143 or Bad Company 3 projects? Gustav Halling and Tim Kjell will take over from Kertz on continuing to work on BF3's weapon adjustments.

Might want to add his other post saying he isn't leaving dice, he's just working on different projects within the studio. (Probably Mirrors Edge 2)
