So I saw a guy on Youtube ask what the secret to getting a MOAB is.
I answered with this:
Honestly, I was stuck in your position. Now I get them regularly by teaching myself. This is how you get a MOAB.
- First off, find your gamemode. Usually people play Dom, and I loved Dom until MW3. Spawns are messed up, alot of bull happens, and it just dont like it. I get MOABs in Cap the flag the most.
- Next, find a team. If you have a mic, get friendly with some good players or navigate your way to hupit.com and find a team. They can give callouts to where campers are, if spawns flip, or whatever. Also, they can help by giving you UAVs adv. UAVs and whatever else. Most of the times, if you ask someone to kill themself infront of you because you are close to a MOAB but dont have much ammo, they will.
- Now, find your map. Many maps i have never even got close to getting a MOAB on. (Downturn in particular) Fallen is probably one of the easiest maps to get a MOAB on especially in cap the flag because you can EASILY spawn trap.
- Not needed, but highly recommended, play with a mic. A nice mic will cost from $50-$100+, the ones I recommended are the Logitech F540's. I have used them for 2 years and nothing wrong has happened. These let you have a balance of hearing the game, footsteps, and teammates.
- Perk/killstreak/gun setup. First of all, I recommended Sleight of Hand, Hardline, and Marksman. Sleight of Hand is almost a necessity on whatever class i have, Hardline to get your killstreaks faster, and marksman because you can see people at ridiculous distances. Killstreak. USE SPECIALIST. the specialist line-up i use is assassin, blind eye, and scavenger in that order. Assassin to make sure no one can find you with the radar, which will most likely be up in a minute or so into the game (and remember now, you have hardline so you only need one kill for this), next blind eye because killstreaks are annoying especially when you are going MOABing, and they will be the next thing the other team gets after they call in a hoard of UAVs. Last is scavenger because by that time, you'll be running out of ammo, trust me. Guns. I prefer the ACR, which is probably the best gun for MOABing. A necessity with this is the silencer, so people cant know where you are, 24/7 and extended mags, for more ammo and being able to pull off 3+ man sprays. Even if you want a proficiency like kick or something, it will be unlocked when you unlock specialistpro (9 kills). Also, make use of your equipment. Use semtex and motionsensor. Semtex will help if you accidentally press the throw button, plus you can stick someone, and it goes off faster. Motion sensor to be where you are softcore camping, but dont rely on it too much because assassin users wont be seen by it!
- Dont be afraid to camp. Do SOFTCORE camping, which is like securing your position. NEVER sit in a corner, more like make sure no one enters your building and use the building for cover.
I hope this helps.
