I am currently thinking about upgrading my 4 gigs of ram in my laptop to 8 gigs. I am wondering if this will allow my minecraft to run faster, or would I have to upgrade my video card? I would like to be able to play minecraft on normal render distance, while recording it. for the recording I need more ram, but what about the render distance? I have a Mobile Intel 4 series Express Chipset Family integrated with my laptop, and it has 1759 MB of memory. How would I know if I can place a new Graphics card into my laptop?
Thanks for the help.
Thanks for the help.

Giving Minecraft more RAM will make it faster, but you will need a .bat file to launch it with the RAM.
Here is a code that will launch with 2GB RAM (I use it for a 512x texture pack)

java -Xmx2048M -Xms2048M -jar Minecraft.exe

That all depends on your CPU and GPU.
4GB of RAM works fine for me. You may need to consider upgrading your CPU/GPU instead of your RAM.

I have an Intel Pentium (R) Dual-Core processor with ~2.0 GHz. What could I replace that with? Also my graphics card which I stated above is integrated. would it be possible to add in a different video card? I do have a slot in the left side that I don't know what it is used for.
Thanks
