As far as I know it has to have been Jailbroke before with your SHSH blobs saved to the Cydia site


1.... Download the ispw [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

2....Open up itunes and put the idevice into DFU mode itunes will show a message just hit ok and back out of itunes

3....Go to start and go to c:drive<windows<system32<drivers<etc there you will see a hosts file
Open the file using notepad and at the bottom (the last letter hit enter) type in 74.208.105.171(space)gs.apple.com[/b]

4....After u do that highlight and copy it all and close down notepad after ur done with that go to programs and to make it quick and easy search all programs for notepad agn and run it as admin

5....Paste the copy u have in there and then go to save as and make sure u save it over the old hosts file make sure it replaces(c:drive>windows>system32>drivers>etc>(name it hosts)make sure u are replacing the old hosts file that u had opened in the etc file (it will ask if u wana replace the old file say yes)

6....OK getting closer now that ur idevice is in DFU mode open up itunes and ur gona wana restore but before u hit restore HOLD DOWN THE SHIFT KEY it will bring up files go to where u downloaded the file from the site above and use that to restore

7.... If all done rite u should be at the file that u downloaded from the link in this tut i am pretty sure that this will work for what ever firmware u wana downgraded to i used it on my ipod 4g that was updated to 4.3 and downgraded to 4.2.1 and jailbroke it using greenp0isen go to there site for the download.


Yes this is a copy and paste from a way older post that i did but have done it on the iphone 4, just havent tried it on my 4s
