Hey TTG
In this guide, it will tell you the best way to keep your YouTube account safe.
Here is some tips on keeping your account safe, and avoid getting hacked.
Your Password:
Use different combinations of passwords each time, with a mixture of letters, numbers and punctuation. Dont use the same password for multiple accounts over several websites and programs. If you feel that your account is at risk and/or somebody may know your password, always reset/change your passwords to keep your account safe.
Username and password:
Never post your account's email address, account password or recovery questions. Make sure your recovery questions are personal to you, and not 'What school do you go to' because your friend may just not turn out the way you thought he was. Websites may ask you for information on your account (ie: email address and username) to enter into a competition or to win virtual items as prizes, never trust those websites, and steer clear of them.
Fake Websites:
Always check the URL's you log into for your YouTube account. Hackers set up fake websites known as 'Phishing websites' promising you will receive virtual goods for free. These websites are 100% fake, Never Trust Them! If they look dodgy, or sound too good to be true, they most probably are. Generally the 'Fake website's' will look exactly the same as the real YouTube website, but always check the starting URL (Website address) starts with youtube.com If you have any doubts on the site you are on, then close the site.
Internet Browsers:
Always update to the latest version of your web browser, the latest browsers of Google Chrome, Internet explorer and Firefox have built in 'Phishing website detectors' to alert you when you navigate to a phishing website.
Anti-Virus Software:
Make sure you have the latest version of your anti-virus software. If you don't currently have an anti-virus software installed on your computer, i would seriously recommend buying one/downloading one, as it is essential to stop you from getting your accounts hacked. One known virus is a 'Key Logger' that logs everything you type in, takes screen shots of the page you are on, and records exactly what you are doing. Then the information it gets, will then be sent to the email address of the hacker. This is one known way many hackers try and get your account. Make sure you have your anti-virus on at all times, and do full system scans regularly, to keep your system clean.
Suspicious Emails
Delete ALL suspicious emails Without opening them. Be very aware of emails that ask you for any personal information, and any links, yet again, check the starting URL for Phishing websites. Never download any attachments linked to emails as it may contain malicious software (e.g. a virus, spyware or other malware).
Account Information:
Confirm the email and other account information associated is accurate and current. Always check your information, and update it if necessary.
Credit Cards and Bank Statements:
Always review your bank statements and credit cards for unauthorized charges to your account, as this is classed as fraud. If your mum or dad pays for it, remind them to check as well, as i am sure they do anyway.
On The Forums:
If you ever receive a private message in the forums asking for your account information, it is fake. Scammers will even use names that sound legitimate, such as Youtube Admin or YouTube Developer. Again, YouTube will never ask you for your account info.
If you do receive a message like this report it to one of the forum moderators as 'Abusing PM System'
If you do receive a message like this report it to one of the forum moderators as 'Abusing PM System'
What To Do If You Thing You Have Been Phished:
If you think you've entered your login info into a phishing site by accident, change your password right away. Its likely that your account has been compromised, but you may still have time to save it.
Then contact Youtubes customer service team immediately and provide as much detail and evidence as you can.

Selling your account and buying subscribers/views ect...
Selling your account on TTG is against the rules anyway, and is also against youtube's terms of policy. I would strongly advise you not to sell your account. Also buying subscribers and views is also against the rules, so i would advise not to do that. Paying for virtual goods is also sometimes scammers scamming money out of you, so if you really are going to buy these products, then buy with care and its your own fault if your account gets banned on youtube or you get scammed.
Bots
Using bots on youtube is against the rules. Posting bots on TTG is also against the site rules. If you are caught by youtube then you will most probably be banned for it, and youtube can tell very easily. So be warned! BOTS MAY GET YOU BANNED!
Who has access to your account:
Sharing accounts is a good idea, and in the past i have done that. If you are sharing an account, make sure its somebody you can 100% trust, and never with somebody you have never met.
Credit to Slyestcat for the idea!

5 Simple Rules:
To avoid being hacked follow these rules:

2) Always make sure the URL does not change to a phishing site.
3) Never click links in emails asking for account information or claiming your account has been compromised or download any attachments inside the email.
4) Never give out your information through the forums or your console.
5) Use commonsense, Generally if something is too good to be true, it is going to be fake.

Very, very good information on keeping your account safe. I would recommend adding who can have access, like friends and such.
