I was playing my mln 2k12 season and after like 10 minutes the screen went black and 2 red rings for 1st and 3rd player went red. I heard this is a overheating isssue so would i need to appply knew thermal paste to the cpu. I really dont like taking those components offf my xbox but just the shell. But i just want someone to confirm that, that is the issue. Thanks

bump...but can someone just help when i turned it on. It sounds like the dvd drive was starting to run faster and faster so why is that. Is that why it overheats??? The dvd drive is in bad condition barely ever reads my games.

What error do you get? If the disk tray has always had those issues, it most likely overheat.

well last night i had to open my xbox because my dvd drive wouldnt read shit so i cleaned all the dust out and put the wiring back together. And it read everything fine and now today i wake up do shit and play a brand new game and it overheats so idk. Im not stupid just i **** up alot with xboxes and why i ask alot of questions
