Consequence wrote I don't understand how people can take their own life. Life is to precious it is the biggest blessing that you have and then when someone decides to just take their life that is not right. You should appreciate that you are living and breathing no one should be ever brought down to the point where your thought even consider suicide, God gave you life and you decide to take it away he gave you a chance to live and life, a life to experience the beauty of being a human and being ALIVE! That is disgraceful no one should ever commit suicide.
Some people are tortured constantly until the point where they can't take it any more, whether it be physically, OR mentally. You can't say that it is disgraceful, as you don't know anything about them. It's not like they're going to commit suicide for the sake of it, they do it for a reason. You don't know what they've been through at all. And anyway, if God really thought suicide was a sin, then surely he would be able to stop it, and possibly even change their life. If you don't like something, then you would surely try and change it in such a way that makes it better for you, wouldn't you? I'm not hating your religion, that's how you feel, and I respect that, but some Christians are very closed minded. Alot of them have two very simple answers to what happens in life referring to God's existence and how he deals with many of the problems in everyday life. For example: If something good happens, against the vast odds, then it is simply a Miracle. However, when there is suffering going on in this world, and it is not stopped in any way, shape, or form, Christians come back with the simple answer of "God works in mysterious ways"
I'm sorry for trailing off topic, but if God really wanted you to live your full life and make 100% sure that nobody would ever waste it and destroy the life he gave them, wouldn't he stop all things like suffering, hatred, and conflict in the world to make sure that suicide wouldn't happen? If "God" really wanted to stop people from throwing away the life he gave them, surely he would make sure that they don't commit suicide?

Sorry to hear about your friend I'd like to start off by saying I don't have a religion, but I do believe that there are many gods and I respect most people who are religious. I don't believe for one minute suicide is a sin. If a person has gone through suffering in their life, it is there right to choose whether to end it or not. I myself have thought many times doing it with some of the suffering that has happened in my life. If I chose the right path in life, but didn't want to live it any more why should I go to hell just for committing suicide? On the other hand if I chose the bad path in life and committed suicide it would then be gods choice to what will happen after that. Suicide is not a sin, it's just a the path someone has the right to take in life.

Fractulz wrote I have been hearing this alot lately since one of my friends has committed suicide. Its always funny to because I always here this from people of the Christian faith who say "God has a plan for everyone" and "if you commit suicide you go to hell because you disrupted the plan". How do people know that suicide was the deemed path by "God" for this person? What if it was meant to be? I wish people weren't so ignorant about a blatant contradiction.
I completely agree!!!! im agnostic

Danieltcb12 wrote So, I've seen a bunch of comments saying that "God is fake" and "I dont believe in fairy tales". If you believe that, Go to church ONE time then come back and tell me that again. God does miracles. If you don't get saved, Your going to hell. Simple as that. Go to church then come back and tell me that.
Where to begin, well to start off people who say god does not exist are atheists and going to church would not benefit them in any way. Now lets talk about the Bible. The Bible is like the game "Telephone" where a group of people start a word/sentence and it gets past around the table to the end where who ever is playing see if it is the word to start out with. It is impossible to disprove god fully but it is impossible to prove him fully to. I could say I have a flying turtle in my basement and how can you tell if I am lying or telling the truth, you can't. It would be ignorant to though "Go to church once and tell me go isn't real" in which I would say that atheists do not say god isn't real but we do not believe his existence. Just like you can believe I don't have a flying turtle in my basement but you can not just say "Nope impossible" because you have no complete facts to back it up. I would go on but a lot of people on this site are very close minded and will thumbs down anything hating on god.
On Topic: I feel sorry for your friend but people seem to not understand why people do it. People have to be pushed to there limit to take there life away and probably were already suffering from depression which would add on to it. Unless you can walk a mile in there shoes then you will never truly know how they were feeling when they were about to do it. Again, sorry for your friend and may he Rest In Peace.

Sorry for your friend, my prayers go out for his family, but in my opinion god does not give you a set plan. When your going to eat, get hurt, die. You can have free will in life. If things get tough in life the easiest way out of it is suicide. Not everyone can succeed with their plan in there life time.

What does the Bible say about suicide? How does God view it? Do all those who kill themselves go to Hell?
Very few would argue with the fact that suicide is a direct breaking of the Sixth Commandment which is, "You shall not murder." We are not to murder each other or ourselves. God created human beings in His image and each of us carries within us the potential to overcome the evil in this world, and to rule and reign with Christ in heavenly places. If we are Christians, we no longer belong to ourselves, but to God. We are overseers of our bodies and our lives (which belong to Him), and we are responsible to guard that which has been entrusted to us.
Suicide is a grievous sin that seriously hurts both the heart of God, and those who loved the deceased. The pain of losing a loved one who took their own life is not easily healed, and often isn't fully healed until Heaven. Whether you are contemplating suicide or know someone who killed themselves, God wants you to know there is hope and life for you. He is the great Healer and Restorer of what has been lost or stolen.
Actually throughout the bible, Jesus says how he forgives man for their sins. Educate yourself about something before you form an opinion.

im not hating on all christians here because i am one, just the really close minded ones that will argue for hours that they are right and if you dont believe you are going to hell and they try and force their beliefs on to every single person around them.i mean im not exactly religious never go to church or anything but i dont have a problem with those who do,but people who are religious f*cking hate it when people who are christians, catholic, muslim whatever dont go to church or whatever it is.i mean its a free world people can believe what they want if people want to believe you go to hell for suicide they can or if you dont believe in it fine no one is forcing you but yeah i think you dont go to hell,i mean like someone said suicide isnt a sin,its sins against you that make you want to end your life so badly (well it was something like that)
