As you can tell it comes with the ability to overclock and monitor your system much like the popular speedfan but this program has the feature of recording gameplay and taking screenshots which makes this a PC gamers delight to use. Just go through the settings and you can select of the settings like quality, compression and the key binding you want to use to begin and end recording. This is the antivirus software i have sworn by for years and best of all, ITS FREE. Admittedly the free version does mean you get an advert for the premium version whenever you update the software but with a simple click its gone and your PC is virus safe.

The secondary reason I recommend it is that its small and doesn't use anywhere near as much of your memory and CPU meaning you won't sacrifice that all important FPS ;)

Fraps records your gameplay and desktop aswell as letting you keep a close eye on your FPS with a simple to read UI that shows in at whatever point you want on your screen while you play.

Speedfan is exactly like MSI afterburner in that its a tool to monitor and overclock your system but it doesn't have the ability to record gameplay. it literally just lets you check you CPU temperatures and overclock your system
