The first mob to predict 2012 as the end of the world were the Mayans, a bloodthirsty race that were good at two things:
Building highly accurate astrological equipment out of stone and
Sacrificing Virgins.
Thousands of years ago they managed to calculate the length of the lunar moon as 329.53020 days, only 34 seconds out. The Mayan calendar predicts that the Earth will end on December 21, 2012. Given that they were pretty close to the mark with the lunar cycle, its likely theyve got the end of the world right as well.

2. Sun Storms
Solar experts from around the world monitoring the sun have made a startling discovery: our sun is in a bit of strife. The energy output of the sun is, like most things in nature, cyclic, and its supposed to be in the middle of a period of relative stability. However, recent solar storms have been bombarding the Earth with so much radiation energy, its been knocking out power grids and destroying satellites. This activity is predicted to get worse, and calculations suggest itll reach its deadly peak sometime in 2012

3. The Atom Smasher
Scientists in Europe have been building the worlds largest particle accelerator. Basically its a 27km tunnel designed to smash atoms together to find out what makes the Universe tick. However, the mega-gadget has caused serious concern, with some scientists suggesting that its properly even a bad idea to turn it on in the first place. Theyre predicting all manner of deadly results, including mini black holes. So when this machine is fired up for its first serious experiment in 2012, the world could be crushed into a super-dense blob the size of a basketball.

4. The Bible says
If having scientists warning us about the end of the world isnt bad enough, religious folks are getting in on the act aswell. Interpretations of the Christian Bible reveal that the date for Armageddon, the final battle between Good an Evil, has been set down for 2012. The I Ching, also known as the Chinese book of Changes, says the same thing, as do various sections of the Hindu teachings.

5. Super Volcano
Yellowstone National Park in the United States is famous for its thermal springs and Old Faithful geyser. The reason for this is simple its sitting on top of the worlds biggest volcano, and geological experts are beginning to get nervous sweats. The Yellowstone volcano has a pattern of erupting every 650,000 years or so, and were many years overdue for an explosion that will fill the atmosphere with ash, blocking the sun and plunging the Earth into a frozen winter that could last up to 15,000 years. The pressure under the Yellowstone is building steadily, and geologists have set 2012 as a likely date for the big bang

6. The Physicists
This ones case of bog-simple maths mathematics. Physicists at Berekely Uni have been crunching the numbers. and theyve determined that the Earth is well overdue for a major catastrophic event. Even worse, theyre claiming their calculations prove, that were all going to die, very soon while also saying their prediction comes with a certainty of 99 percent- and 2012 just happens to be the best guess as to when it occurs.

7. Slip-Slop-Slap-BANG!
We all know the Earth is surrounded by a magnetic field that sheilds us from most of the suns radiation. What you might not know is that the magnetic poles we call north and south have a nasty habit of swapping places every 750,000 years or so and right now were about 30,000 years overdue. Scientists have noted that the poles are drifting apart roughly 20-30kms each year, much faster than ever before, which points to a pole-shift being right around the corner. While the pole shift is underway, the magnetic field is disrupted and will eventually disappear, sometimes for up to 100 years. The result is enough UV outdoors to crisp your skin in seconds, killing everything it touches.

Stuff I know MYSELF:
3 things are predicted in 2012.
Venus will go in front of the sun, where we can see it completely.
Solar Eclipse
2012 Apocolypse

The Mayan Island is the only place where you can witness ALL THREE.
There's a 1 in 8000 chance that all those rare happenings happen in the same year.

1. Explorers also found Myan Calenders of 2013,2014, and 2015...

2. NASA states that the suns activity is not above average, and it will not be in 2012.

3. The Atom Smasher has already been activated previously, and nothing happened.

4. The Bible doesn't say a specific date, but it does give 7 signs that mean the apocolypse is coming...

5. Scientists have actually predicted it won't erupt for at least another 1,000-2,000 years, saw it on the History Channel last night

6. That's so stupid I don't even need to put anything...

7. My Earth Science teacher and I had a long discussion about this, and all that would happen is the poles switching. Just that. It wouldn't cause our magnetic field to "disappear"

I CBA to find it riht now, but NASA put out an entire Q&A which disproved EVERY 2012 thoery.

Check.
Mate.

Can we all stop flaming the topic and accept the fact that people believe different things and that it isnt easy to make them believe your opinion, no matter what it is.

If heaven even exists. Nothing in this topic whatsoever has anyproof of God Being real, 2012 being real, heaven being real or anything.

Personally I don't believe the world will end in 2012, I have my doubts but I really don't think it will happen. Some of the theories are believable such as the black hole and similar that can be man made, but any of that planets align and aliens. I just don't believe it. This is my opinion I don't expect anyone else to believe it and I respect your right to have your own opinions and beliefs.

THEY CAN'T EVEN PREDICT THE WEATHER FOR GOD'S SAKE!!!!
1. Who said that they were predicting the end of the world? They could've ran out of rock or thats when the calendar maker died.
2. The Mayan calendar isn't even the calendar we use its a completely different date.
3.If they know that the atom smasher will produce a blackhole why would they use it?
4. The sun and everything else in nature is unpredictable so there's no saying that the sun storm will happen.
5. The Bible is the Bible nuff said.
5. They've been saying that the Yellowstone volcano was going to erupt about five years ago? I haven't seen any ash in the air. How would they know that it erupts every 650,000 years?
6. The Earth is overdue for nothing. These events aren't planned! All of that is totally random. The only catastrophic event now is America's President.
7. Magnetic pole shifts do nothing.
Your argument is invalid, good day!
