POLICE are today searching several Middlesbrough estates for a suspected double killer.
Officers were probing Gresham, Park End and Pallister Park as they hunted James Allen.
And a police van could be seen outside what is believed to be the 35-year-olds previous address in North Ormesby.
Detectives are also believed to have looked into reports Allen had been seen in the same club as the first victim.
Allen is being sought by police in connection with two murders - one in Newport and one in Whitby.
He is wanted following the death of 81-year-old Colin Dunford, who was found at his Leven Street home on Monday.
And yesterday the body of 50-year-old Julie Davison was discovered at her flat in Whitby.
The high-profile inquiry has come as a shock to Allens former neighbours in a quiet North Ormesby Street.
It is believed he has been living at different addresses in the Middlesbrough area. But residents in Macbean Street identified him as having lived there for a time.
I am quite shocked. You just dont think, one woman said. You say hello to them every day.
I know he looks rough, but he didnt come across like that.
