Well, for those of you that don't know, the Riverwood Trader can be invested in (Just like any other merchant) and he can get up to 12000 gold per inventory restock.
This means that you can sell things worth 10000 gold to him, and so on.
What you need
The investor perk (Under the speech tree)
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Then, go to the riverwood trader, and hit the "I'd like to invest in your shop" option.
After you've done this, hit "Yes I'm sure". Then, you're done.
This is just a quick tip for those that don't know about it, I'm expecting most of you will already know about it.

I did this and his gold only increased by 500 gold :/

Try waiting 48 hours in game time, and his inventory should restock.
