When I defend, I don't press B to tackle. I simple run into the player, and it works a treat.

With the RB thing, only do that when you're in the midfield. If you do it when defending your defenders can be dragged out of position and then someone can put a simple through ball or one-two it around your defence.

When someone's about to cross it, hold LT and try to contain them into a mistake.

... This is how I defend and I've only lost 79 games in the 850+ I've played.

I'm good at judging what the opponents going to do, so I can switch to the right player and defend. Say someone is running with Ashley Young down the left, but they only have a striker that's 5ft8. I know Ashley Young is going to cut inside with a fake-shot or simple go onto his right foot and finesse it.

Things like that... know your opponent. ;)

No see what happens is when it goes ET + Penos, I can't see the strike bar on my screen so I lose every time on Penos!

So basically I just try make sure I win come 90th min
