I think the motherboard in the case is a standard mini-ATX board..

Then yes, the motherboard will work in that case. I highly recommend, if you aren't going to already, that you upgrade your CPU, RAM and MOBO ASAP. If I was you I'd look at upgrading them if you are going to be getting a new case. This is why I dislike pre-built PC's as it makes it so difficult to upgrade.

gpu - radeon 6770 hd vs gpu - radeon 6770 hd
cpu - e2220 2.4ghz cpu - q6600 quad core
psu - gx 650w psu - gx 650w
ram - 4gb ddr2 ram - 4gb ddr2

I don't think you'd gain a whole lot of performance by upgrading to the Q6600. Sure it has 4 cores, but it is 2.4 GHz. However, you can overclock it to around 3-3.2 Ghz but that would mean getting a CPU cooler which will cost extra. What I'd suggest is you get an i3 2100 CPU, 4GB ddr3 and a H61 motherboard. With this plus the 6770 you would be able to play Diablo 3 without a problem and you would manage MW3.

Could I put the h61 mobo in the dell inspiron 518 case? Could I just use the hard/ optical drives from that computer? Sorry for being computer illiterate lol.. you've been a lot of help.

The problem with pre-built PC's is that they don't give you too much information. Considering your current motherboard is ATX then I would think so, but as the CM 430 only costs $40 and is a much better case than the dell one I'd say just buy the CM 430. The HDD and Optical drive you currently have will be fine to transfer over to the new build. If you do need some extra space you can easily add extra HDD's as there are 4 slots.
Off topic: It's not a problem, I do my best to help out, that's why I use this site.

Your CPU is total bottleneck... You're gonna need a much better CPU than that to keep up with recent graphics cards....
