I heard that it was actually going to raise to 18...
But then again, it's all stories.

The amount of times ive heard they are putting it up to 18 is beyond, so i very much doubt they will put it down to 16, expecially because there are so many young drivers.. which is the result in expensive insurance, so many of them are claiming from being idiots when on the roads

I am currently 16 and from the people my age that i know this would not be a good idea as they are complete idiots and would not be safe on the roads, i agree that a car would be handy for things like college (the place where we/or at least i will do A levels) instead of having to pay about 300 pounds per year for the bus but i firmly believe that a mo-ped is enough and that allowing us into cars would have serious negative effects.
There are of course very mature people of my age who wouldn't be a liability but this should be blanketed so that no exceptions are allowed (to make it fair) and it would save lives realy of both the drivers and the possible victims...
I think that 17 is adequate.

I live in Canada, Got my G1 when I turned 16, and I'm 17 4/12 months now. Now I have my G2 (Drive alone, Without a Full license driver in the vehicle with me) But I cannot leave Ontario and drive.
They should, It's a good idea. There are not a lot of deaths in Canada anyways, Maybe we are just a awesome country?
