Don't join YouTube with the aim of getting partnered because if you have that mind set it simply won't happen. You should be making videos for YouTube because you enjoy it not because you wanna become famous/well known and make some cash. If you wanna make cash then just get a job it's much more reliable.

If you're joining YouTube for any of the reasons above then you are joining for the wrong reasons.

1,000 daily video views (or more), as reported by [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
At least one (1) month old
At least fifteen (15) videos
100% copyright-free
